To get to Texas Creek, we had to descend a long distance down Prospector Gulch, and we were quite tired when we reached Texas Creek, so we decided to camp at the trail head. It was a very flat, open valley and there were cattle down the road. Someone had left a supply of water in containers there, so we decided to use some of it. As we set up camp, it began to drizzle and later when we were eating dinner, it rained heavily.
