After hiking the Quiriang, I continued driving north on the single lane road between Staffin and Uig. Along the way, there were scattered white houses and more broad views to the sea. My landlord had told me to stop wherever others were stopped, so I stopped by the sea to take a picture of a ruined castle on a high bluff. I also stopped at the Museum of Island Life to see a recreation of an old settlement where there were oblong stone buildings with thatch roofs. The houses were well suited to the environment using local materials that provided warmth to the residents.
