Timber Lake
Yesterday, I led a Mountain Club hike to Timber Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I had received two unsolicited emails warning me about the 2012 mudslide that had covered the trail and the difficult detour the Park Service had created. The Park Service sign called the detour "very difficult and arduous." The five of us found the steep detour to be strenuous but not overly difficult. We had beautiful, calm October weather and the lake was lovely. We found a smaller lake just beyond the end of the larger lake.
