Zinal
From Col de Sorebois, we descended into the town of Zinal. Zinal is a resort town with large hotels, two markets, three sports stores and a number of restaurants. The old village main street is beautiful with the eccentrically eclectic old log buildings decorated with wooden shutters, flowers and wood carvings. The central space is created by several large, quaint hotels with restaurants with outdoor seating that spills out onto the street. To the north, mountains tower over the steep sided valley. Zinal was definitely my favorite Swiss village. For dinner at our very quaint hotel, the Auberge Alpina, we had a nice, fluffy lasagna with coconut pudding for dessert.
