Above Baldy Lake, we could see a high ridge which culminated in a peak called Long Branch Baldy. The next morning we climbed a short distance from the lake to the Continental Divide. We hiked a short distance on the Continental Divide Trail to a point where we left the trail and bushwhacked towards Long Branch Baldy. At one point we found a great view down to Baldy Lake and our campsite far below. The top of the peak gave us endless views in all directions. The views were slightly lessened by haze which likely was caused by the fires in areas far to the south.
