Pisac

Pisac

We visited the Inca ruins at Pisac, which was a small Inca village with residential, military, and sacred portions. We hiked through a tunnel to the Intihuatana temple that enclosed a large boulder that was perhaps used to track the movements of the sun. Sacred buildings of the Incas included many niches in the walls which were used to hold sacred objects. Some of the larger ones likely held mummys.
