Collins Canyon

Collins Canyon

The next afternoon we descended from the Collins Trailhead into Collins Canyon and camped where the canyon intersected with the Grand Gulch. We were to hike 36 miles upstream in the Gulch to the Kane Ranger station. We camped at the intersection and explored a bit downstream in the Grand Gulch. During this expedition we would be seeing the remnants of native peoples who had lived in the area over seven hundred years before. That evening we found a beautiful panel of paintings on the canyon wall including a lovely painting of a deer.
