The Tabernacle
From camp on the river in the open Unkar Delta area, we hiked to the top of the Tabernacle, a pyramid shaped butte. The hike was a 2,300 feet climb up an exposed, narrow ridge and through open scrub desert to the top where we could see the north and south rims. From that vantage point the Solomon Temple pinnacle was close, and we could see a number of other features including the Sheba Temple, Rama Shrine and the Krishnu Temple. We could see Cape Royal and Cape Final on the North Rim.
