Vances hut was warm and comfortable but not as nice as the other two. We had my Brunswick stew, including leftover turkey, with biscuits, which everyone seemed to enjoy. For dessert there was pumpkin pie. The next morning, we worked to eat as much of the remaining food as we could so we wouldn’t have to carry it out. We had pumpkin pie, eggs, blueberry pancakes, biscuits and oatmeal for breakfast. The three-mile snowshoe back down to Ski Cooper was a wonderful hike through the deep snow. All the evergreen tree limbs were covered with great puffs of snow. It was beautifully atmospheric for the last day of November and the beginning of the winter season in the mountains.
